Hi everyone.

Remember when I said I'd never leave it till the last minute to send out an email again? I lied.

For those of you who were there last Tuesday, you will know that the series that was chosen to replace 'Hataraki Man' is 'Kamichu'. As this is only a 13 episode series, when it finishes we'll replace it with another 13 episode series to take us through until the end of term.

At the last movie screening, someone requested that we show 'Blood: The Last Vampire' as a film. As this is only short, we're also showing the 'xxxHoLiC' OVA to fill in the time. This movie does not require you to have seen the 'xxxHoLiC' series to be understood. It's very enjoyable even if you are unfamiliar with it. We're also reshowing episode 14 of 'Mahoraba' as this episode could not be totally screened last week due to technical issues.

This Friday is also our long-awaited 24 hour marathon screening. These events are very informal. You can come and go as you please during them if you don't think you can survive the whole thing, but you will be heavily commended if you do last the whole event. Please bring blankets and pillows as, although we ask for the heating in the Congregation Hall to be left on, it does tend to get a bit chilly in there. There will be a kettle and toaster on hand for you to use, but you have to provide your own food and drink. There will be a 20 minute break after every 4 episodes (or so) to give you chance to prepare food. May I please remind you that no alcohol or smoking will be permitted in the Congregation Hall, and anyone who tries to do so will be removed. It is a tradition for people attending the marathon to bring plushies with them to keep us company during the long event. This is not necessary for you to attend but hey, it's fun. It is also recommended that you bring a camera because it is fun and we like having evidence to catalogue our sanity levels throughout the screening. In case you don't know, the Congregation Hall is the building opposite the main campus bus stop (sort of) and room 01.07 is the room on the left of the downstairs corridor, next to the toilets. The event will begin at 7pm on the Friday and we would appreciate the help in setting up the room if you could come a bit earlier than this.

Anyway, here's what we're screening in week 8:

Tuesday 13th November - 8pm, Union House 1.33

School Rumble - episode 7
Paranoia Agent - episode 7
Kamichu - episode 2
Noein - episode 7
Scrapped Princess - episode 7
Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex - episode 7
xxxHoLiC - episode 7

Thursday 15th November - 8pm, Union House 1.33

Blood: The Last Vampire
xxxHoLiC: A Midsummer Night's Dream
Mahoraba: Heartful Days - episodes 14 + 15

Friday 16th November - 7pm, Congregation Hall 01.07

Neon Genesis Evangelion - episodes 1 - 24
The End of Evangelion
Ouran High School Host Club - episodes 1 - 26

We tend to congregate in the blue half of the Union Bar about an hour before each screening (7pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays) for a drink and a chat. If you'd like to join us, we'd be very pleased to see you!
